The registration-related activities are being looked after by Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs) located at the District Headquarters as well as some newly created Additional Regional Transport Offices in sub-divisional towns.
The department aims to provide an efficient, transparent, and smart transport system for the state. Transport Department deals with a wide spectrum of public services such as issuance of driving licenses, registration of vehicles, issuance of permits, operation of public transport services, development of transport infrastructure, and promotion of private sector investment in transport sector within the domain of State Government.
